Founded in the Central Ward of Newark in 2017, The Honk-Tweet is an interdisciplinary community of makers, held together by the experience of their core team, the usefulness of services catered for and by the community, and studio space suited for experimentation and dialog.

Supported by core members CHIKA, Matthew Gantt, Wolfgang Gil, John Heida, Lucas Hickman, Nour Malaeb, Josh Ott, Brian Sandilands, Kati Vilim, and Giang Vo, The Honk-Tweet offers mentorship, inspiration, and financial opportunities for anyone demonstrating serious commitment in researching/making work in areas including sound design and engineering, lighting design and projection mapping, product and interaction design, virtual and augmented reality, fabrication and architecture.
