Founded in the Central Ward of Newark in 2017, The Honk-Tweet is an interdisciplinary community of makers, held together by the experience of their core team, the usefulness of services catered for and by the community, and studio space suited for experimentation and dialog.

Supported by core members CHIKA, Matthew Gantt, Wolfgang Gil, John Heida, Lucas Hickman, Nour Malaeb, Josh Ott, Kati Vilim, and Giang Vo, the Honk-Tweet provides mentorship, inspiration, and financial opportunities for individuals dedicated to researching or creating work in fields such as sound design and engineering, lighting design and projection mapping, product and interaction design, virtual and augmented reality, as well as 3D modeling and fabrication.
